 | Bienvenidos a mi mundo | Oct 28, 2007 |
Welcome to my little world. We live near the south end of the Baja Peninsula in Mexico, sandwiched by the Sea of Cortez to the east, and the Pacific Ocean to the west. We have lived here since retiring in 2000. Come and visit my little piece of God's creation! (My new hot tub is there just to the left of the veranda...)

 | Harriet, that reflective lettering was really quite simple. I took the layer with the lettering and flipped it vertically, then ran the ripple effect on it and toned down the transparency just a bit. |

- What a great day in Eugene! Church at Willamette Bible Chapel, where we attended when we lived in Eugene from 1969 - 1984, lunch at the Glenwood, on a spur of the moment invite from Phyllis I attended the Bach Festival's final concert "Ode to Joy" by Beethoven, then dinner at Phyllis and John's of fresh salmon, corn on the cob, fresh lettuce from the garden. Sigh.... life is good!
- We are now ensconced in our trailer sitting in Ben's brother's driveway near Bend Oregon. Our view is their pretty backyard and the Three Sisters, snow covered volcanic mountains. We'll be here for a while until we head over to the Willamette Valley. Enjoying the sunshiny hot days and the cool nights!
- Thanks, everyone for the Birthday wishes! I had a great, low key day, although we had 17 folks here for dinner tonight. And I love the card one friend got me. Quote ... " We're gonna be COOL old Ladies!" and on the inside "Oh wait....we already ARE!!!"
- We're back home in Baja. The journey was long but pretty (except for some road construction!) I might even write a blog soon...don't hold your breath!
- Hooray! Clark County jury duty is OVER (never got called) and I got a new Dell computer today. It's a beauty with a 17" screen, so I'll be really able to enjoy your photos! Now we're off to the wilderness. Not sure how much internet access we'll have for a while.
- Good news!! I had my final medical appointment on Monday July 19th with my Oncologist, and he said my mammogram results this year were fine, and that I was hale and hearty! Hooray. Now I get to have fun this summer!
- We are closing up our Baja house and heading to the US today, and will be on the road for the summer. I'll try to keep up with your posts, but I may be a bit late with my comments and witty repartee! We hope to post some interesting blogs during our travels, so you don't forget us!!!
Your traveling amiga.... Harriet
- I just took part in the Census. The Mexican Census, that is! They ask some interesting questions. I guess this makes up for us not being counted in the US this year!
- FYI, the Baja quake had no effect here in Baja California Sur. We are 800 miles or so away from the epicenter, and didn't feel a thing. No problems here!
- My good friend Ray (a Yorkshire man living in Baja Sur, Mexico) has written a story. I think you'll enjoy it! Give him a read, and say "ta" to him.

This is Koby's first recital. He's been playing since January this year, and does a great job finding the right notes. He dresses up pretty spiffy, too! (And Dad gives him a thumbs up at the end!)

Wonderful violin (fiddle) music. He performed live here in Los Barriles this winter. What a treat!

This is a recipe I got from my sister Alice, who passed away 8 years ago at the age of 62 of colon cancer. I think of her fondly every time I make these delicious cookies. She had a hard time keeping her husband supplied with these...he ate them... more
